Many people I know have wanted to kick 2016 firmly into the past and I share that sentiment. Personally challenging for many and globally unerving it has been an frighteneing period and it seems likely that 2017 will be a bit stormy too.
Yet for me it has been a creative turning point, my creative confidence has grown over the past year and I am now more determined than ever to shape my creative and working life to a form I can really enjoy and that works for me. I have the possibility of making the most of the potential at Meadow Cottage, my studio, which has never had heating and is now a dilapidated wooden structure is being upgraded.. Teaching and mentoring, which I find enjoyable and rewarding, are becoming a bigger part of my working life, but it is my own creative output that I am looking forward to getting stuck in to. For me many seeds were sown in 2016 which may come to positive fruition this year. Painfully aware that time slips by all too quickly, I am picking up the pace and dumping any vestiges of procrastination or timidity. In short, I'm going for it - all of it, everything. Undaunted, fearless, brave and bold I am welcoming 2017 as MY creative year.
